“If we were to think of the exhibition space as a space station, everything orbiting around it—probes, stars and planets, human or extraterrestrial constructions, mechanical or natural entities, inert or alive—would constantly form new constellations of seemingly distant elements, held together by invisible forces that are now visible through our small projection device, from a distant corner in the north of Mexico City.”

Join Head Hi and Proyector, a curatorial platform based in Mexico City, for the release of Projections: Exhibiting the Hidden (Arquine, 2025) a new book that documents their projects promoting emerging voices in architecture research over its first five years of operation. The book unfolds the process and wide range of themes and phenomena they have addressed, representing the contemporary concerns of a new generation of architects, researchers, artists and practitioners and its disciplinary shifts. The book explores the peripheral condition—geographic and disciplinary—of these practices, delving into the exhibition, curatorship, small spaces, the archive and collective work, as devices that support the proliferation of expanded, experimental and critical practices in architecture.

Meet the Proyector founders. See what they are up to in Mexico City! Celebrate small, independent organizations focusing on the understanding of architecture.

Proyector is a curatorial platform based in Mexico City, dedicated to the promotion of emerging voices in contemporary architectural research. Committed to fostering new strategies and critical, theoretical and historical tools on spatial issues, researchers (and research groups) are invited to work together with the curatorial team in a collaborative manner, seeking the projection of their research in multiple formats: exhibitions, publications, workshops, performances, talks, seminars, among others.

Head Hi in the City is an Archtober pop up shop and program space at Center for Architecture spotlighting recently released architecture publications selected to celebrate the festival theme of Shared Spaces and a commitment to deepening our relationships with the places we inhabit. Featuring books and design objects for sale, as well as weekly events including book launches, talks, and the New York Architecture & Design Book Club gathering, Head Hi in the City is an extension of Head Hi, New York’s premiere architecture and design-focused bookstore and cultural organization bridging architecture, design, and art via projects, reading materials, and public programming.
