The Port Authority has broken ground on a transformative $19 billion dollar public/private redevelopment program to build a new John F. Kennedy International Airport with two giant new terminals, expansion, and modernization of existing terminals, streamlined roadways, popular local retail and dining, and stunning New York artwork—all to provide our customers with the world-class travel experience they deserve. This presentation will provide an overview of the various construction projects and project delivery methods included as part of the Redevelopment Program.

About the Speakers:
Gianpiero Carovillano has been at JFK Airport since February 2020 and has been primarily involved in the $1.2 Billion Roadways, Utilities and Ground Transportation Design-Build Project as well as various enabling work order contracts to install new utilities throughout the Central Terminal Area to support the new Terminal Redevelopment. Gianpiero received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College. He is a licensed PE of NY.
Daniel Chmielewski focused on Taxiway and Runway Rehabilitation projects as well as electrical utility upgrades throughout the airport. It is there that Chmielewski was exposed to the Port Authority’s initial batch of Design-Build projects, working on the Runway Deck Extension project as well as the new East Parking Garage. Chmielewski received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Manhattan College. He is a licensed PE in NY, as well as a Certified Construction Management from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
Kristen Derewecki has been working on JFK Redevelopment and State of Good Repair Contracts, which include the Roadways, Utilities and Ground Transportation Design-Build Project as well as various enabling landside and airside contracts to install new utilities, hard stands and improve taxiways to support the new Terminal Redevelopment, Derewecki received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in civil engineering from Rutgers University. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey.
