Creative Inspirations and Multiple Applications of Natural Leather

Sustainable leather can be used to create a variety of building products, including flooring, wall coverings, and furniture. Architects, designers, and builders—particularly ones interested in sustainability and creative experimentation in residential design—are encouraged to join several experts at the Lineapelle New York Italian Leather Fair to explore the potential of consciously sourced and made leather as a building material with multiple applications.

Participants will be able to join guided tours of the conference floor and will be introduced to Italian leather makers working at the forefront of sustainable leather production and design, with a focus on innovative design trends. Experts will discuss the high sustainability standards of the Italian leather industry and showcase various upcycled leather products with building product applications. Participants will learn how to navigate the complex Italian leather industry, understanding the different processes and expertise required for tanneries, specific finishes, and unique applications

The event will explore the benefits of using natural and upcycled leather in architecture and encourage further experimentation with the material, allowing participants to learn how to use upcycled leather in real-world applications. Guests will have the opportunity to view and take home samples of a variety of finished and unfinished leather products.
