How do you make housing in New York accessible for all? A new design competition asked architects to come up with creative solutions for turning the tiny, underutilized properties that dot the city into affordable housing. Join us for a conversation about the five finalists and making New York more affordable at Resource Furniture’s NYC Showroom. An extension of the inaugural Big Ideas for Small Lots NYC competition and exhibition, the panel will include competition jurors Claire Weisz, FAIA, and Hayes Slade, AIA, IIDA, with Dwell Editor-in-Chief William Hanley moderating. All are welcome!

Launched in February 2019 by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) in collaboration with AIA New York, the competition seeks the most innovative ideas from top architects and designers from around the world to transform New York City’s most difficult-to-develop properties into future affordable housing.
