Infrastructure is banal and wondrous, ubiquitous and hidden. The task of presenting it to a general public—in galleries, publications, or events—comes with a unique set of challenges, distinct from architecture and design. On the occasion of the Designing Waste exhibition, curator Andrew Blum will convene a conversation about what we talk about when we talk about infrastructure.
Speakers: Aaron Gordon, Transportation Reporter, The Village Voice Amy Plitt, Curbed NY Editor Mariel Villeré, Freshkills Park Development Team, NYC Parks Gregory Wessner, Executive Director, Open House New York
The exhibition is based on the Zero Waste Design Guidelines, an expansive document that examines architectural strategies for waste reduction.
