Designing Waste

Please join us for a symposium for Designing Waste: Strategies for a Zero Waste City, an exhibition based on the Zero Waste Design Guidelines. Designing Waste explores how architects, designers, and building professionals can help NYC achieve its goal of sending zero waste to landfills by 2030, focusing on a particular segment of the waste stream: the brief period between when we discard something and it rolls away on the back of a truck.
The symposium will look at the different scales of design that can help increase diversion rates. Speakers from New York City, and Paris, France will provide ideas and models for how New York can reach its goal of sending zero waste to landfill by 2030. Through panels with city officials, architects, and others, the audience will learn about the varied ways that cities are designing policies, buildings and streetscapes for waste.
