In 1857, thirteen architects met in New York to form an organization to promote architects and architecture. The AIA was born. Ten years later, the AIA held its first annual convention in New York. Don’t miss the event’s return to its birthplace! AIA New York and the Center for Architecture are planning dozens of tours and events that will bring you to every borough—by boat, bike, bus, subway, and on foot.
We’ll bring you to skyscrapers and storefronts, museums and manufacturing hubs, islands and tunnels, monuments, parks, and more. What better way to experience NYC than guided by local architects? See you in New York!
Visit the official conference site for links to hotel reservations, the call for conference abstracts and a look back at highlights from A’17.
As host chapter, AIA New York will be looking for volunteers to help with tours, symposium check-in, and in various capacities throughout the conference. If you would be interested in helping, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
