New Tour! The Cool Green Edge: Riverside Drive

Meet at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Riverside Drive and West 89th Street.

What better way to enjoy the cool breezes of a summer evening than at the cool green edge of the city?  This NEW early-evening tour experience takes advantage of the unique qualities of light and microclimate, and ends in a location which will provide a choice of dining options.

Discover the story behind the rampart of apartments, townhouses and mansions flanking the sinuous border of Riverside Park. The distinction between the built and natural environment on the drive is captivating. Naturalistic and picturesque in its design, the development of the drive at the end of the nineteenth century spurred an equally varied and distinctive architectural response in the twentieth century.

Tours will run rain or shine. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour start time. Registration is limited to 15; walk-ups are not guaranteed a spot on the tour.
