Join NYSERDA and the Building Energy Exchange for this launch of the Empire Building Challenge educational series High Rise, Low Carbon, promoting the market for low-carbon retrofits of tall buildings across New York State. In this inaugural event, we explore the Empire Building Challenge program and the work of four real estate partners that will be pioneering new models for deep efficiency in tall buildings in cold climates. The first four EBC awards for showcase retrofits include:
- Hudson Square Properties
- Empire State Realty Trust
- L&M Development
- Omni New York
The real estate partners in the Empire Building Challenge collectively control more than 130 million square feet of commercial and residential properties in New York State and are producing blueprints for how the City and State can retrofit existing buildings to achieve carbon neutrality. NYSERDA is working with the private sector to move beyond simple payback analysis, allowing value over time to guide investments and enable the efficient phasing of building improvements that enhance comfort and health while meeting the goals of our City and State climate action plans.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from presentations by, and discussions with, retrofit industry leaders, including key knowledge sharing around the investment opportunity offered by the scale and market dynamics of New York State.
