About our Rat Experts
Danny Hernandez has been in public service with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation for 28 years. Hernandez started in 1998 as a Playground Associate and has had the pleasure of serving in various titles throughout the years, growing into his current position now as Administrative Park & Recreation Manager. Currently Hernandez manages NYC Park's Manhattan Boro Crews division, which includes Manhattan's Pest Management team as well as the Citywide Street Tree Rodent Mitigation team. Being of service, lending his knowledge, and being a part of a team that makes an impact on everyday New Yorkers lives.
Suzanne Reisman specializes in unique, unusual tours of New York City. If you want to delve into the New York City that's off the beaten (subway) track, she literally wrote a book about it called Off the Beaten (Subway) Track." She is a proudly foul-mouthed flaneuse who loves exploring in New York City. Join Suzanne to learn about saints, garbage, disease, rats, weird history, murders, corruption, anarchy, and NYC at sunrise.
About Data Vandals
Data Vandals is an NYC-based art duo comprised of artist Jen Ray and data visualization designer Jason Forrest, who turn public data into community conversations. Since April of this year, their former newsstand-turned-data art gallery has hosted rotating exhibitions, sticker surveys, live events, music, and a free newspaper. The interior opens a few times a week, but the exterior murals are around the clock, read by roughly 52,000 riders a day.
