Archtober x Data Vandals: Newsstand Activation Unveiling

Join Archtober and Data Vandals to celebrate the unveiling of the festival’s newsstand activation at the 51st Street 6 Train Subway Station, Downtown platform. Data Vandals is an NYC-based art duo comprised of artist Jen Ray and data visualization designer Jason Forrest, who turn public data into community conversations. Since April of this year, their former newsstand-turned-data art gallery has hosted rotating exhibitions, sticker surveys, live events, music, and a free newspaper. The interior opens a few times a week, but the exterior murals are around the clock, read by roughly 52,000 riders a day.

Archtober is New York City’s month-long festival, celebrating architecture and design throughout the city and beyond. Through collaboration with the festivals partners, Archtober provides exhibitions, talks, tours, and special events that are free and accessible to all.
