The Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement Program: Transformation in Place

This program will focus on the Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal Replacement Program—a transformational project aimed at modernizing and improving the commuter experience. The project includes multiple phases of construction to deliver a new steel-clad storage and staging facility, a modernized ramp structure, new main terminal, and open space. Attendees will gain an understanding of the enhanced build in-place approach, challenges and opportunities, as well as the overall framework of its delivery and execution.

Refreshments will be served at 5:30 PM. Presentation will start at 6:00 PM.

About the Speakers:
Kristen Derewecki, PE, is the Deputy Director of Construction for Major Capital Projects at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. She is currently managing various aspects of construction on the Bus Terminal Replacement Program. Previously she was involved  in managing the construction on the JFK Redevelopment Program and the Restore the George Program.

David Torres is a Senior Project Manager at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he’s currently focused on the Bus Terminal redevelopment. His day-to-day is focused on balancing the logistical demands of the project with the needs of the local stakeholders. Most of his time is spent coordinating between peer agencies and community advocacy groups to keep the project moving forward while minimizing impacts.
