Fundamentals of Lighting is an introductory course developed by the Illuminating Engineering Society and presented and managed by the IESNYC Education Committee. The course comprises several modules, presented over 8 evenings:

Thursdays, 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm (ET)
April 2       Module 1: Introduction to Light and Lighting
April 9       Module 2: Electric Light Sources
April 16     Module 3: Daylighting, Module 5: Lighting Controls
April 23     Module 4: Luminaires
April 30     Module 6: Metrics, Photometry, Calculations, and Rendering
May 7       Module 8: Lighting for Interior Environments
May 14     Module 7: Codes, Standards, and Practice  Module 9: Lighting for Exterior Environments
May 21     Module 10: Review

In a basic and straightforward style, each module provides up-to-date material on lighting concepts, systems, equipment, calculation procedures, and other important design and industry issues. This course is ideal for those who have only a basic knowledge of lighting and for working professionals who want a thorough overview of the field.

Many thanks to RBW for hosting this in-person course in their inspirational Tribeca showroom. The course is taught by an impressive roster of lighting professionals working the field today.

20.0 IES Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or AIA Learning Units (LUs). Registrants must attend all classes to receive full CEU credit.
