Join NYCOBA on Thursday, December 11, 2025 for our annual holiday party, filled with networking, fundraising and community fellowship as we reflect on NYCOBA’s 50 year impact and mission forward. We will celebrate 50 Years of Architectural Legacy since the founding of the New York Coalition of Black Architects!

On July 25, 1975, 17 Black architects created NYCOBA, the New York Coalition of Black Architects, following the end of the Council for the Advancement of the Negro in Architecture (“CANA”), a organization that united African-American architects in New York City in the late 1950s through mid 1960s. Since 1975, NYCOBA has grown into a thriving network, joining NOMA in 1992, to become the New York Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. NYCOBA supports more than 300 annual members, 9 student chapters, 10 committees, and numerous events designed to support emerging professionals, firm owners, allied professionals, and our community.

The evening will include networking with dinner and drinks, a short but special NYCOBA 50th Anniversary presentation by the Board and Committee-Co-chairs, plus member awards. The night will conclude with more networking and dancing!

Catering will be provided by Chef Chris Callendrer, who has catered many NYCOBA events, including the past two holiday parties, bringing together cultural favorites with a Jamaican flair!

Our event will be held in partnership with Harlem Stage in Manhattan, New York, a historic, mission-based performing arts institution established “to provide equitable resources and platforms to artists of color, challenging systemic exclusion.” (Harlem Stage)

We look forward to seeing you! Thank you for your support!
