Modern life is ever more reliant upon electricity, outpacing the capacity of urban power grids. Meeting these increased loads and the demand for reliability with intermittent generation sources and aging infrastructure poses a tremendous challenge, and in dense, urban areas like Brooklyn, space for upgrades is limited while utility costs are rising. Energy storage projects distributed throughout NYC maximize the value of the existing grid, offer more local control to the utility, and support the immediate surrounding area.

Join this session with Dirk van Ouwerkerk, Senior Vice President of Storage Development at Soltage to hear how urban energy storage addresses these challenges and how Soltage is designing and developing these projects to be embedded in New York City’s urban environment.

We will also learn about the substantial steps that have been taken to render these storage systems safe as well as satisfactory to the New York City Fire Department.
