In response to a growing trend within the architecture industry, Epic Games invites you to dive into the future with a dynamic workshop on virtual production for high stakes pursuits and design reviews. These courses are also appropriate for firms interested in learning more about their clients who are building virtual production studios. This kickoff virtual course is a blended learning experience with self-guided videos and a live Q+A and demonstration hosted from the Epic LA Innovation Lab in El Segundo, CA. It is designed to complement the more advanced follow-up course, which will be held in person at the Epic Games NYC office on September 10, 10:00 am–4:00 pm. Can’t make both? No worries—you’re welcome to attend either one independently!
This virtual, blended learning course is designed for professionals who are new to real-time engines and workflows and are interested in learning how to integrate various software tools into an Unreal Engine pipeline. Registrants will receive project files and access to 18 pre-recorded videos in advance of a live Q+A that focuses on the virtual production elements of this online learning content. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email, which will grant you access to a list of courses which you will retain access to for one year.
During this virtual workshop, experts from Epic Games will host the live Q+A and a demonstration from the Epic LA Innovation Lab. The demonstration will include an introduction to in-camera VFX by showing the LA Lab ICVFX setup (MOCAP, cameras, LED panels, an explanation of the render nodes and control boxes), a use case from Epic Games & Lux Machina, and the use of multi-user and virtual cameras for remote collaboration and content review. A recording of the live session will be provided to registrants. Gaming laptops are required for this course. The hardware specs can be found here. Virtual machine rentals are available for confirmed registrants at Training@epicgames.com.
For the onsite workshop, hosted at the Epic Games NYC office, laptops installed with Unreal Engine will be provided by MSI and will feature the Vū One Mini LED wall, provided by Vū. The in-person course is on September 10, 10:00 am–4:00 pm, and will be led by an Unreal Engine certified instructor from CG Pro. Workflows that include several software products will be covered so project files are included in the workshops. For this onsite workshop, laptops will be provided!
