Words are being erased. Books banned. Truths rewritten.

As governments, platforms, and institutions try to control what we can say, Designers can’t stay neutral. CENSOR THIS! is a public act of creative defiance—part installation, part workshop, part typographic riot—staged at ThoughtMatter’s studio during NYCxDESIGN Festival 2025.

This event calls on designers and the public to push back. Not with speeches, but with type. With layout. With ink. We’re reclaiming the words they’ve blocklisted, the typefaces they’ve sanitized, and the voices they’ve tried to bury.

We’re inviting designers and the public to reclaim language.
Come break the rules with us. Be bold. Be visible. Do what design is meant to do: say something that matters.

Because silence isn’t a strategy. It’s surrender.
