City of Yes for Housing Opportunity: Insights for Emerging Architects

The AIANY Emerging New York Architects Committee (ENYA) is pleased to share the message of the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity. A New York City Zoning Resolution amendment approved on December 5, 2024, City of Yes is not only the largest amendment since 1961, but also makes it possible to build a little bit more housing in every neighborhood, thus helping to alleviate our housing crisis. This program is intended as a great opportunity for young professionals to better understand the zoning intent directly from policymakers, and to help them embrace new opportunities.

Join us for a training session and a presentation by the NYC Department of City Planning (DCP)'s Frank Ruchala, Director of Zoning, and Christopher Hayner, Deputy Director of Zoning, who will offer a quick overview of the zoning changes and elaborate more technical details. The presentation will be followed by Q&A session.
