Rukh Art Hub and Mriya Gallery present Maria Kulikovska’s debut New York exhibition, Once Leda Found an Egg — Blue Like a Hyacinth. The show highlights her powerful critique of power abuse, feminist resistance, and the fight for freedom and democracy.

Kulikovska, internationally acclaimed for her bold feminist stance, critiques systemic violence against women. Her works have been displayed at renowned institutions such as the Francisco Carolinum Museum, Neue Nationalgalerie, and Ludwig Museum. Born in Crimea, she was banned from her homeland after Russia’s annexation in 2014 and has faced surveillance and persecution due to her political performances against Russian aggression.

Her actions, including Raft Crimea and Act of Solidarity, have been performed across Europe. In 2014, Russian forces destroyed her sculptures at the Izolyatsia art center, but fragments were later discovered by prisoners, symbolizing resilience and vulnerability. Kulikovska’s work continues to amplify her resistance to colonial and patriarchal structures.
