The Object of the Season: Holiday Party and Exhibition Tour

Join the AIANY Interiors Committee and AIANY Committee on Residential Architecture at the internationally acclaimed R & Company Gallery in Tribeca to celebrate the holiday season with a private viewing and tour of Objects: USA 2024, the launch of their American Design Triennial. The exhibition features objects designed by New York’s most innovative designers and artists, including Katie Stout, Luam Melake, Joyce Lin, Jolie Ngo, and Roverto Lugo.

The AIANY Interiors Committee and AIANY Committee on Residential Architecture understands the expressive value that signature objects contribute to people’s personal spaces. For our inaugural holiday celebration, R & Company has generously offered to provide guests with both a party and an exclusive look at the 100 objects by 55 visionary makers being exhibited at their gallery. This major survey exhibition challenges traditionally understood boundaries between fine art, craft, and design and captures the diversity of  individuals propelling handmade processes in compelling new directions. Many of the featured works defy easy categorization, teetering between sculpture and functional furniture and between art objects and beautifully crafted everyday tools.

Enjoy an evening of good cheer while taking in this unique spectrum of works that curators Kellie Riggs and Angelik Vizcarrondo-Laboy assembled. Objects: USA 2024 showcases the development of a fresh conceptual framework which emphasizes the individual artistic motivations and establishes a new set of collective archetypes of objects—the Seven Archetypes of Objecthood: Truthsayers, Betatesters, Doomsdayers, Insiders, Mediators, Codebreakers, and Keepers.
