March 25, 2024 will mark the 113th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and the first commemoration ceremony with the permanent memorial installed on the site of the fire. The Center for Architecture together with the Remember The Triangle Fire Coalition and the designers of the memorial, Uri Wegman and Richard Joon Yoo, invite the public to learn about the legacy of the Triangle Fire and the making of the permanent memorial with a special program at the Center for Architecture.

The Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition and the designers of the memorial will tell the unique story of how the Triangle Fire memorial came to life, from its conception in 2011 to its realization in 2023. Revealing the entangled tale of activism and the multiple challenges the project faced in trying to keep the memory of those who perished and the legacy of the fire alive, the presentation will be followed by a panel discussion and questions from the audience.

Wendy Feuer,
Former Assistant Commissioner, Department of Transportation
