This presentation will cover the design challenges, staging requirements, and construction overview of the North Hero Grand Isle Drawbridge replacement, a project designed by HDR, Vermont Agency of Transportation, and Cianbro and executed using Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) alternative delivery. Spanning 260 feet, including two 50-foot approach spans and two 80-foot leafs, the historic concrete and steel twin leaf bascule bridge is the only vehicular moveable bridge in Vermont.

About the Speakers:
Paul Jakubicki
 is a Professional Associate/Senior Mechanical Engineer with almost 30 years of total industry experience and co-chairs the HDR companywide Movable Bridge Technology Center. He also regularly engages with office staff nationwide on current projects and is involved with business development, proposal writing, and movable bridge marketing efforts.

Khaled Hajjeh is a Senior Structural Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the bridge engineering. He has gained design experience ranging from completing multi-disciplined projects, participating in design-build projects, and performing design services during construction. He collaborates with clients on delivering solutions that meet project goals and objectives.

Jacek Krysiewicz is a Senior Electrical Engineer with over eighteen (18) years of experience in project management, design, testing, troubleshooting and inspection of electrical, control and instrumentation systems for Movable Bridges and other heavy movable structures.
