Teen Workshop: Exploring SoHo (Grades 9-12)

Winter/Spring 2024 Series:

The Winter/Spring 2024 Teen Workshops will focus on developing fundamental architectural design skills and exploring the architecture of New York City. Each workshop focuses on a different core lesson that will help high school students explore their interest in architecture as well as hone skills that will be helpful for portfolio development. These workshops are open to all levels of architecture and art experience. Attend all four sessions, or just select the workshops that appeal most to you!

Exploring SoHo:

Join the Center for Architecture for a day of design exploration in SoHo, one of New York City’s many historic districts. This unique neighborhood is a fascinating mix of old and new, home to trendy boutiques, innovative new buildings, and the largest collection of 19th century cast-iron buildings in the world. After an introduction to key design elements, we’ll explore this area’s architectural treasures on foot, then return to the Center where students will create a new building to fit in this historic district.
   
All materials will be provided. Lunch will not be provided. All students will be dismissed for a lunch break from 12pm – 1pm. Students may bring lunch to eat at the Center if desired.

Scholarships:

Need-based partial scholarships are available. Upon completing program registration as a “scholarship applicant”, you will automatically receive a confirmation email which includes a link to the Scholarship Application. Your registration is complete once you submit the Scholarship Application. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, you will be notified by email within one week of the due date. At that time, balance payment will be due. 

The Scholarship Application deadline for this session is Saturday, April 20.

By registering for this course, you are accepting our In-Person Youth Programs Terms & Conditions. 
 
CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration for all programs is non-transferable. Tuition for all programs is non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy. The Center for Architecture will not provide make-ups or refunds for days missed as a result of vacation plans, scheduling conflicts, illness, emergencies, or other events beyond our control.

PHOTO RELEASE: I agree to allow the Center or its agents to photograph or record the Student during their programs.
