Every project has an incredible capacity to create, to generate, to produce errors, sometimes in a way that is totally unintentional, either because some things—a proportion, a depth, a height—are underestimated or because they are taken into account too late in the project. Sometimes it is a material that behaves differently to how we thought it would. However, precisely because error is uncontrollable, this ingredient becomes part of the alchemical formula of the project itself and suddenly, the thing, which at first sight seemed to be an error, now becomes the strongest point of the project.
Piero Lissoni’s lecture will explore the “philosophy of the error” through a narration of anecdotes and experiences from the world of design.
