Building of the Day: Radio Tower and Hotel

Radio Hotel and Tower is the first completed building by MVRDV in the United States. The distinctive design comprises a stack of blocks, which match the size of the buildings in the immediate context, clad in eight different colors of glazed brick. While the building has a dramatic impact on the skyline of upper Manhattan, its design responds sensitively to the neighborhood.
