Garden Dialogues 2022: Southampton, NY II

Garden Dialogues provides exclusive access to great landscapes where one can learn the secrets to their creation. This dramatic contemporary residence and landscape by Sawyer | Benson were completed in 2019 and employs native plantings, subtly undulating landforms, and material textures and colors to evoke a weathered driftwood aesthetic. The project skillfully met the myriad of requirements set by zoning and environmental agencies as well as FEMA. It also balances the site’s unique landscape character with the needs of the client, while also enhancing one of its key features—a cinematic view of the coast visible from the residence.
