Walking Tour: Modern Architecture in the West Village and Meatpacking District

Meet at Washington Square Arch at Fifth Ave. & Washington Square North

Discover lesser-known examples of Modern architecture, some stunning new buildings and additions, and creative examples of adaptive re-use in the West Village and Meatpacking District. Included are buildings designed by Joseph Urban, Albert Ledner, Edgar Tafel, Paul Rudolph, Hugh Hardy, Kohn Pedersen Fox, SOM, SHoP, Morris Adjmi, BKSK, WORKac, and others.

The safety and comfort of our guides and guests is our number one priority. By registering for this tour, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to the following guidelines:

• Face masks will be required for all during remarks made inside. Once outside, vaccinated individuals may remove masks. In accordance with CDC guidelines, unvaccinated guests must please wear a mask throughout the tour. 
• Maintaining six feet of distance from the guide and anyone not in your party is strongly encouraged.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in your guide requesting that you kindly leave the tour group. Refunds will not be provided for tours canceled due to a failure to comply with safety guidelines.

Launched in 2018, with David Amram as Artist-in-Residence and Suzanne Vega headlining a free concert in Washington Square Park, it offers a wide selection of events, for locals and visitors alike and for every age.
