Design Discovery: Architectural Model Making (Grades 9-12) – In-Person

Spring 2022 Series:

The Design Discovery Spring 2022 series will focus on fundamental architectural design skills. Each workshop focuses on a different core lesson that will help high school students explore their interest in architecture as well as hone a skill that will be helpful for portfolio development. These workshops are open to all levels of architecture and art experience. Attend all four sessions for an opportunity to round out all skills, or just select the workshops that appeal most to you! 

Architectural Model Making:

This workshop introduces students to basic model making tools and techniques used by students and professionals. Basic cutting skills using X-Acto and Olfa blades will be introduced beginning with one-on-one tutorials before students embark on a selection of small projects to hone their skills. A list of tools and materials will be provided to encourage students to continue their practice at home.

All materials will be provided.

Scholarships:

The Scholarship Application deadline is Saturday, March 19th. If you are interested in applying for a need-based scholarship, please follow the instructions on the Scholarship Information and Financial Need Form.

By registering for this course, you are accepting our In-Person Programs Terms & Conditions. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration for all programs is non-transferable. Tuition for all programs is non-refundable. There are no exceptions to this policy. The Center for Architecture will not provide make-ups or refunds for days missed as a result of vacation plans, scheduling conflicts, illness (including COVID-19), emergencies, or other events beyond our control. 

VACCINATION AND MASK POLICY: All visitors 5 and older must be fully vaccinated and will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (with photo ID for adults) to enter the Center for Architecture. The vaccination policy for Youth Programs will remain in place through the end of Summer 2022. Please see the Center for Architecture’s COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocol for current guidelines on masking.
