Please join the AIANY Committee on the Environment, Pratt’s Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD) program, NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) for Wast(ED): Living with Trash, a virtual and in-person event that will examine issues of how we address waste in an urban context. The first of two panel discussions, From Dumps to Density, will examine living nearby and on top of waste. The second panel, From Recycling to Upcycling, will discuss innovative ways to reuse waste materials and buildings in urban contexts. The discussions will bring together esteemed architects and thinkers who will offer provocative and counterintuitive perspectives on climate change and its impacts. Work from NJIT and Pratt GAUD students examining these topics will be presented.
This event is the second of a series of collaborations between the GAUD and AIANY/Center for Architecture on climate change. A reception will be held following the event.
