Youth Program: Piers of the Past & Public Parks
Built in 1884, Pier A, at the southern edge of Battery Park City, is the oldest pier of its kind in Manhattan. Starting at The Skyscraper Museum, across the street from Wagner Park, we will explore the landmarks that anchor the new neighborhood built on landfill that covered the old finger piers of the working waterfront. Join us for a walk that explores the history of the piers and parks of Battery Park City. After we consider life above and below the piers, kids will make a group drawing on a
