UnHealthcare: A Virtual Lecture and Book Signing by Dr. Stephen Klasko

JB&B University is proud to host a virtual lecture and book signing by Dr. Stephen Klasko, MD, MBA, President of Thomas Jefferson University, CEO of Jefferson Health, and co-author of UnHealthcare: A Manifesto for Health Assurance.

In UnHealthcare, Dr. Klasko and Silicon Valley entrepreneur Hemant Taneja, with Kevin Maney, make a provocative case for a new data-driven, cloud-based category of healthcare they’ve dubbed “health assurance,” which can:

•       be built using today’s technology,
•       help people stay healthier at less cost, and
•       help individuals and officials contain and manage deadly virus outbreaks such as Covid-19.

A prime example of health assurance is Jefferson Health’s Specialty Care Pavilion, a 19-story medical building in Philadelphia slated to open in 2024. The Pavilion (or “space station” as Dr. Klasko refers to it) represents a transformative moment for the academic medical center’s future as the region starts to rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic. As Dr. Klasko envisions the project, “This spectacular new center is our bridge to the future, where we’ll create the nation’s first model of health assurance.”
