Join us to explore firsthand how reuse can be collaboratively activated by design/build teams, municipalities, craftspeople, and reuse organizations to help reduce waste and carbon impact and create an increasingly circular built environment.

Background: We generate 548 million tons of construction and demolition (C+D) debris each year as a nation—twice the amount of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generated. Only an average of 38% of this mixed C+D debris gets diverted from landfill! As a result, GHG emissions and high costs are incurred to transport wasted material resources and pay tipping fees to landfills nearing capacity. Furthermore, new materials are too often purchased from virgin resource supply chains, increasing our embodied carbon. Resources, knowledge, and policy are growing to activate resource reuse and circularity.
