Discover Architecture

The Center for Architecture’s Discover Architecture career exploration program will be held virtually in winter 2021 as a free, one-day conference on Friday, February 19^th from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm Eastern Time, with a lunch break from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. The program will begin with an introduction from 9:30 – 10 am, followed by a series of 50-minute presentations and workshop sessions led by architecture professionals. Sessions are designed to help high school students get a better sense of what it’s like to be an architect and will explore topics such as:

• Career path: How to prepare for and apply to architecture school and options for paths of study
• Collaborative process: How architects, clients, consultants, and contractors work together
• Current design projects: Case studies illuminating how architects work through a design project from start to finish
• Job site tours and more!

Morning and afternoon sessions will be different from each other, but students have the option of registering for only a half-day if their schedule does not allow them to attend the full day.
