Dear Friends of the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee,
Please join the AIANY WIA Committee for a special event, “In Dialogue With…Newly Licensed Women Architects of 2020” at our February monthly committee meeting. After our regular announcements, the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee will host a special virtual celebration in recognition of the women who have accomplished the important milestone of attaining licensure in 2020. We will kick off the celebration with a toast (beverage of your choice!), followed by an engaging dialogue with the newly licensed architects who will share their unique paths towards licensure, challenges encountered, lessons learned, advice and resources for the licensure journey, professional and personal aspirations. We look forward to learning from the accomplished ‘Class of 2020’ and hope to inspire many others to pursue or support those in pursuit of licensure. We will close with an open Q&A session and conversation.
The WIA Committee will also share gender parity trends in licensure over the past 20 years. Are the numbers improving? What can be done to improve the licensure rate and number of women practicing architecture? Please join us to find out!
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US! We look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for your participation and support.
Vivian Lee and Rosalind Tsang,
AIANY WIA Committee Co-Chairs
Congratulations to the 43 AIANY licensed architects – see them all here!
The committees of AIA New York are the foundations from which the Chapter positions itself in the field of architecture, whether through discussion, advocacy, policy making and development, event and exhibition planning, or other endeavors.
Committees meet monthly, usually at the Center for Architecture. AIA members, AIA associate members, and general public are all welcome to participate.
If you have questions or are considering attending a meeting for the first time, contact each committee’s co-chairs for more information at aiany.org/committees.
