After-School: Advanced Digital Design: Building Community (Grades 7-12)

Dates: November 9, November 11, November 16, November 18, November 23, November 30, December 2, and December 7.

Take your SketchUp skills to the next level with this advanced digital design class. Prerequisite is successful completion of a prior CFA Digital Design SketchUp class.  

What are some of the issues impacting our communities today and how can architecture help address them? Students will choose their own site and learn how to use geo-location tools to import this into SketchUp as a starting point for their project. Class activities will help students build fluency with digital design techniques and architectural ideas as they develop their own designs for a building that promotes civic and community engagement.  

Students will need a laptop or desktop computer, a 3-click mouse, and Windows 10, 8, or 7 or Mac OS 10 operating system. This class cannot be done on a tablet, phone, or Chromebook. 

Please Note: No materials will be shipped for this program. We ask all students to provide pencils, pens, blank paper, crayons/markers/colored pencils, scissors, and a ruler or straightedge.
