Design educator and historian Daniella Ohad presents a unique online course exploring the foundation of modern design history. This intensive 5-session course provides an introduction to the major historical styles, evolution, and movements that came to shape the story of modern design from 1860 to 1910. By examining interiors, furniture, objects, building, designers, makers, methods of production, and material culture, students will develop an understanding of the history of design and its visual vocabulary. 

$75 ticket fee includes 5 one-hour webinar sessions. Webinar links for individual sessions will be emailed to all participants WEEKLY. If for any reason you do not receive your weekly link, please email mfichtner@aiany.org prior to the session start.

About the Instructor
Daniella Ohad received her Ph.D. from Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design and Culture. She lectures and publishes widely on design history, theory, and the decorative arts. She has taught at Parsons the New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and Bard College. She is a speaker on topics in design, collecting, and taste worldwide.
