In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Regional Plan Association’s annual Assembly is going virtual. RPA will be hosting a series of free online panels in May and June addressing the immediate and long-term effects of COVID-19 on the region’s health, economy, and infrastructure. On May 29th, RPA will host, “Scenarios for Recovery and Renewal in the Tri-State Region, ” which will discuss how the tri-state region, the U.S. epicenter of COVID-19 infections, will be changed by the epidemic and its aftermath. With so many uncertainties, how can we make sense of the different ways that the future could unfold and create a recovery that puts us on the path to a healthier, fairer, and more resilient region? The panel will be moderated by Anthony E. Shorris, currently John L. Weinberg/Goldman Sachs Visiting Professor at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and who recently served as the First Deputy Mayor of New York City. Panelists include representatives from Community Voices Heard, Columbia Business School, McKinsey & Co., Demos, and Guttmacher Institute.
