Come visit an exhibition of prints, paintings and photographs at SPACED Gallery. Almost all the structures in this array of New York images still exist as almost half of them are officially landmarked. They range from Trinity Church (1839) to The Dakota (1884) to the Chrysler Building (1930) and monuments like Grant’s Tomb (1897) and the Maine Memorial at Columbus Circle (1913)  The last gasp of the popular Roman Eclectic style can be seen in the added triumphal arch of the Central Park West facade of The American Museum of Natural History in a 1936 etching by Hugh Botts.

Also on view are Land maps c,1890 and a print by John Lennon. Other artists include architectural printmakers Armin Landeck, Anton Schultz, Mark Freeman, & Joseph Pennell; Edward Chrystie; modern artists David Macaulay, Richard Haas, & Michael Kirk; and photographer Bernice Abbott.

SPACED gallery is donating a portion of the exhibition’s sales to support Landmark West!

The gallery is also open by appointment by emailing spacedgallery@gmail.com.
