SEAoNY October Seminar: As Built Performance as a measure of Risk, Capacity and Areas of Structural Weakness

This seminar will explain the basic outline of the dynamic behavior of structures, the application of system theory to structures and the assessment of the health of a structure through analysis of dynamic behavior. Some goals of this lecture are to appreciate the use of archived baselines for the quick assessment of structures after an event,  for comparison with a similar measurement after an event. Such assessments can be obtained from low amplitude structural vibrations and this allows the determination of a risk ratio that gives a comparison of the current state of a structure with that envisaged by codification.
