Join the AIANY Design for Health Committee when we explore the Certificate of Need (CON) process in New York State.

The Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals 2010 edition was adopted by New York State, with the 2018 edition anticipated to be adopted in the near future. The New York State Department of Health Certificate of Need (CON) process utilizes the FGI for regulatory purposes. New York’s Certificate of Need (CON) process governs establishment, construction, renovation, and major medical equipment acquisitions of health care facilities, such as hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, and diagnostic and treatment centers. The objectives of the CON process are to promote the delivery of high-quality health care and ensure that services are aligned with community need. Join us for this program where we will discuss the basics of the Certificate of Need process and application to assist professionals.

Speaker:
Udo Ammon, AIA, Director of the Bureau of Architectural & Engineering Review, Division of Planning and Licensure, NYS Department of Health
