Big data has become an increasingly contentious subject. Scandals at Facebook, Equifax, and other technology and data collection companies have exposed the potential of big data for malicious use. However, many of the same technologies make rapid and accurate data collection, analysis, and visualization readily available to design practices of almost any scale.

This event will explore the intersections of data collection, technology, sociology, and statistics, along with their increasing relevancy, ease of use, and applicability to planning, design, and post-occupancy evaluation. Through the exploration of case studies in workplace design and education, we will examine how the harnessing of data collection and analysis tools and techniques can help drive better, healthier, and more sustainable education design.

As a reminder, AIA National policy requires participants to attend the entire educational portion of an event to receive continuing education credits. We encourage all participants to arrive on time to comply with this policy.
