The AIANY Historic Buildings Committee will be gathering for drinks and light fare at the Blue Bar, located on the first floor of India House, on Tuesday, December 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Come join us to celebrate the holiday season and to share your ideas for the committee’s programs and events for the coming year.

India House is a private club located at One Hanover Square in Lower Manhattan; the Blue Bar is located on the first floor and is open to the public. The building was constructed after the fire of 1835 in the style of a Renaissance palazzo for the Hanover Bank. It became known as the New York Cotton Exchange Building, which was founded in 1870 as the first commodity market in the United States. Following the establishment of India House as a private club for leaders in worldwide commerce and foreign trade in 1914, the organization made the building its permanent home in the 1920s with an extensive interior renovation by Delano and Aldrich. The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.

Please RSVP to Nancy Rankin (NRankin@JGWAarchitects.com) if you plan to attend. We hope to see you there!
