Celebrate 15 years of Log on Monday, December 3!

Drinks, delights, discussion: tickets $15.

Log 44 (Fall 2018) marks 15 years since Log 1 rolled off the presses in September 2003. Come celebrate the dynamic longevity of this increasingly important platform for critical thinking and the exchange of ideas about architecture and the city. Join editor Cynthia Davidson in discussion with architects and former Log guest editors Mark Foster Gage, Bryony Roberts, and Cameron Wu about the state of architectural discourse today, and stick around for a Log confection specially made by guest editor of Log 34: The Food Issue, Savinien Caracostea.

Mark Foster Gage guest edited Log 17: Superficial, with Florencia Pita. He is assistant dean and associate professor at the Yale University School of Architecture and founding principal of Mark Foster Gage Architects in New York. His publications include “Killing Simplicity: Object-Oriented Philosophy in Architecture,” in Log 33, and Mark Foster Gage: Projects and Provocations, a new monograph published by Rizzoli.

Bryony Roberts guest edited Log 31: New Ancients, with Dora Epstein Jones. She is the principal of the design and research practice Bryony Roberts Studio and an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University GSAPP. Her works include recent installations and architectural interventions at the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, the Federal Plaza in Chicago, Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, and the Neutra VDL House in Los Angeles. Roberts is also a Log protagonist.

Cameron Wu guest edited a special section of Log 43: The Issue of Geometry. An assistant professor at the Princeton University School of Architecture, he previously taught at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Wu explores the latent organizational principles of geometric form through his independent practice and writings. His formal analysis of Borromini’s San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane appeared on the cover of Log 31: New Ancients.
