A Knowledge Gap: What you Need to Know About Sourcing Endangered Woods – 12:30pm

Architects and designers across the country are invited to participate in the second annual National Day of Learning. For decades, architects and designers have specified wood to bring warmth and beauty to their work. Many in the architecture and design community believe that since trees can be replanted, they’re a renewable source. Unfortunately, trees are renewable, forests are not.

Please join Grace Jeffers, thought leader, design historian and materials expert, for a thought-provoking presentation addressing the complexities of endangered woods, which woods should not be sourced and what tools are available to ensure compliance with sourcing regulations and protecting your business. Two sessions offer 1 HSW: Health, Safety and Welfare Continuing Education (CEU) Credit for IDCEC or AIA. Both sessions will be livestreamed, the first at 12:30 p.m. EDT and again at 3:00 p.m. EDT. Those in NYC are welcomed to attend either session in the Center for Architecture’s Silman Room. Lunch and snacks will be provided and registration for in person session is limited and required.
