The AIANY Women in Architecture Committee presents an architectural practice panel focusing on the work of sole practitioners who combine their passion for architecture with interests outside their firms; giving new meaning to the concept of work/life balance. The panel will discuss work by three New York City-based architects, ranging from pop-up retail spaces to Passive House projects to research for the Storefront for Art and Architecture. The discussion will also explore their experiences with Remote Year programs, local activism, and design research, and how these experiences outside the office inform their approach to their work.

Speakers:

Jennifer Magee, Owner and Creative Director, Retail in the City; Co-Founder, UPWorld
Julie Torres Moskovitz, AIA, LEED AP, CPHC/CPHT, Founding Principal, Fete Nature Architecture
Maria Paz de Moura Castro, Founding Partner, Rizoma Arquitetura

Moderator:

Julia Gamolina, Business Development Coordinator, FXCollaborative

She has traversed over 150,000 km and visited over 30 countries while working on 30+ different design projects over the last two years!
