Every organization has a responsibility to create a culture that values diversity, demonstrates respect, and is free from any form of harassment or discrimination.

This workshop will cover both the compliance and legal issues related to harassment in the workplace and will outline the values, norms, and practices that must be in place in order to prevent harassment from being a common occurrence. Dr. Shirley Davis will introduce participants to the most up-to-date information regarding forms of harassment in the workplace, including the federal laws that prohibit it.

Dr. Davis will also help employees understand what constitutes inappropriate behavior, what actions must be taken in order to address it, and how managers and their teams can create a more respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free workplace culture. This will be an intensive and interactive workshop providing tools to bring back and to implement in firms.

Learning objectives:

  1. Discuss Title V11 of the Civil Rights Act that defines sexual harassment (what it is and what it is not).
  2. Explain the difference between sexual harassment and other forms of harassment that violate federal laws.
  3. List critical do’s and don’ts of workplace harassment.
  4. Recognize the responsibilities of managers/supervisors and employees involved if sexual harassment occurs.

Speaker: Dr. Shirley Davis, President, SDS Global Enterprises, Inc., Tampa
