In 2008, ISSUE was awarded a lease on a theater, originally built in 1926 for the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks. Working with NYC’s DDC, architect WORKac and acoustician ARUP, a first phase of the theater’s renovation began in February 2015 and was completed in late 2015. A second and final phase planned to begin during 2018. Once completed, the flexible space will have increased capacity and feature enhanced acoustic and theater systems.

Architect: Original Architect, 110 Livingston Street: McKim, Mead & White (1926); conversion to ISSUE Project Room: WORKac in collaboration with ARUP (ongoing)
