Please join us at this special event to celebrate the professional life of David L. Ginsberg, FAIA.

The evening will be a memorial service to honor the achievements and influence of our recently deceased colleague David L. Ginsberg, FAIA. Ginsberg began his career at Perkins+Will’s White Plains, NY office upon his graduation from Cornell University in the 1950s. After working on the seminal Heathcote School in Scarsdale and other K-12 school projects, Ginsberg concentrated on building Perkins+Will’s healthcare practice under the guidance of E. Todd Wheeler, eventually becoming their national healthcare practice leader. After developing a master plan for the modernization of Presbyterian Hospital, the largest hospital in New York City, David joined Presbyterian Hospital in 1980 as an executive to lead the Modernization Program, commissioning Skidmore Owings and Merrill as design architects.

Upon completion of the Modernization Program in 1990, Ginsberg retired from Presbyterian Hospital and formed the partnership of Larsen Shein Ginsberg, continuing his practice of healthcare design and planning. In 2005, Larsen Shein Ginsberg merged with Perkins Eastman, where Ginsberg continued his influential career in healthcare design and planning until his retirement in 2013. Throughout his career, Ginsberg trained, taught, mentored, and influenced generations of healthcare architects and planners in New York and beyond.

Ginsberg was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 1980.

Speakers will include: Richard Thomas, Bill Sarama, Bob Larsen, and others
