Scaffolding Exhibition Opening
Please join us for the opening of Scaffolding!
Scaffolding is an exhibition that examines the history and extraordinary potential of scaffolding as a kit-of-parts technology to provide novel forms of inhabitation and access. Of particular interest to our local New York City audience – there are an estimated 280 miles of scaffolding occupying New York City at any given time – scaffolding is a flexible and accessible system hiding in plain sight. Through an installation of actual scaffolding designed by OMA’s Shohei Shigematsu, Scaffolding will reimagine the architectural space of the Center for Architecture, giving the visitor a new appreciation of scaffolding and its transformative potential.
