The historic “Lower West Side” of Manhattan is reborn as a residential neighborhood with contemporary architecture interspersed among its industrial warehouse fabric. Learn about the Washington Street Urban Renewal Plan of the 1960s that helped transform the former Washington Market area into apartment and commercial towers. Discover new construction in and around the four TriBeCa historic districts.

Highlights include buildings by SOM, Richard Dattner, Gruzen Samton, and Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Significant art deco, cast iron, and landmark structures will be viewed, including works by Ralph Walker, Cass Gilbert, and James Bogardus. The tour will also visit the TriBeCa section of Hudson River Park, designed by landscape architects Mathews Nielsen.

Tours will run rain or shine. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour start time. Registration is limited to 15; walk-ups are not guaranteed a spot on the tour. Some tours utilize VOX amplification systems; attendees are welcome to bring their personal earbuds.
